People with Eating Disorders
Information and resources to support understanding, treatment and self-advocacy.
About Us
PEACE brings together clinical experience, research and lived experience to support better eating disorder care for neurodivergent people, their families, carers and clinicians.
PEACE supports more personalised and neurodivergent-informed eating disorder care by sharing practical information, psychoeducation, clinical tools and resources.
These resources help people understand the relationship between neurodivergence, eating, emotions, sensory needs, communication and treatment.
We aim to support care that is:
Recognising neurodivergent experiences as meaningful and important to care.
Sharing tools and strategies that can be used in clinical and everyday settings.
Learning from patients, carers, clinicians and researchers.
Presenting information in accessible, usable formats.
Continuing to develop through feedback and new research.
PEACE began within eating disorder services at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and has grown to adapt eating disorder care in line with autistic experiences, current research and lived experience. The work continues to evolve through feedback from the people who use, deliver and support eating disorder care.
